Luke worked for 18 months at KIRO-AM in Seattle as host of the Too Beautiful to Live show that was aired and later on KIRO-FM. In 2009 the show was Seattle Weekly’s choice as “Best Radio Talk Show”. Previously, he hosted for two months at NPR  the Bryant Park Project. The show was aired on December 14, 2007, on 13 public radios until he left the station.

His radio career began at KUOW 94.9 FM as a producer for the conservative talk show host Kirby Wilbur. Further, Burbank moved to NPR serving on shows All Things Considered and Morning Edition as an assignment reporter.
