Aside from that, he served in the Army Special Services from 1958 to 1960, where he finished third in the All-Army Entertainment Contest 1959-1960 of 44, 000 acts and appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show with other soldiers from 1959 to 1960. In addition, from 1962 to 1968, he worked as a reporter and photographer for the Monadnock Ledger.
His most notable work began in 1963 as the Nathaniel Hawthorne College Theater Production Instructor, and he then taught Media at Keene State College Media Instructor in 1980 and 1984. From 1969 through 1975, he worked as a filmmaker for New Hampshire PTV. From 1976 until 1984, he was general manager and news director at WSLE-WSCV radio, where he also contributed to All Things Considered.
He was also a reporter for WGBH-TV’s Ten Of the Night News from 1986 to 1994, and a Chronicle Contributing Talent for WCVB-TV in 1990. From 1986 to 2000, he was the New Hampshire-Crossroads New HampshirePTV host/producer/writer/editor, and from 2000 to the present, he was a storyteller/historian on WMUR TV.
